Devin Brown, head coach at Brown Baseball Performance

Based in Northeast Ohio and fresh off a five-year college career, Devin brings a coaching philosophy rooted in the mental side of the game. Every drill, every rep, every adjustment comes with an explanation: how your body is positioned, why that position creates power/efficiency, and what your mind needs to trust in the moment it matters most.

When athletes understand the mechanics behind the movement, something clicks. They stop second-guessing and start competing, then confidence starts to grow. That is the difference between a player who practices hard and a player who performs well under pressure. The goal is to shape players into the ones who strive to be in the high-pressure situations.

Whether you are a youth player just learning the game or an advanced-level athlete in the Akron and Canton area, Devin matches your experience level and builds not just your skills, but your understanding of the game from the ground up.

Noticeable improvements: When I first started I had no clue what I was doing wrong. After training with Devin, I have begun to not only feel what is happening, but I can start to correct the bad movements on my own. I have also become more consistent at the plate.
What made BBP different: Most coaches I've had just talk or tell you what you're doing wrong. What makes Devin different is he'll not only tell you, but he'll show you what's happening. This was a huge game changer for me because I learn best with visual cues. He also does drills differently than other coaches. He takes out the repetitiveness and finds the stuff that works for you.
Would I recommend BBP: Yes, I would recommend BBP to other people. Devin is a great mentor and coach. He's played at the college level and he's experienced all the levels of baseball and life. Most of all, he treats everyone like family. Sure, he might be tough on you sometimes, but he's doing it so you can become a better player and a better person.

Noticeable improvements: I had noticeable improvements right away: my exit velocity, distance, and overall consistency. He also helped me with my confidence and the approach I take to the plate.
What made BBP different: There is no tee work, which helps because you won't see the ball on the tee in a game. He also helps with the mental part of the game, and he knows how to get information to you in a way you will understand it.
Would I recommend BBP: Absolutely. I already have, and the people I have suggested him to have seen a noticeable jump in consistency and confidence. He is adaptable and good at getting the information you need to you in a way that you can take in and apply in your own thinking.

Noticeable improvements: Not only am I hitting the ball much better, I'm also mentally more focused in the game. Coach Devin doesn't just focus on how you are hitting the ball and how you are fielding. He also focuses on the mental side of the game, more than anything, and that is one of the huge reasons I go to BBP.
What made BBP different: Coach Devin actually gets close with you. It's like you guys are actually friends and you can talk to him like he's an older brother.
Would I recommend BBP: I would absolutely recommend BBP to anyone who is trying to get better at baseball. Coach Devin has years of experience in college and in high school and he absolutely knows what he's talking about. I've seen it firsthand and I know because it's true.
